Everything is “OK”

Everything is still OKThere is alot of talk going around because of the recession that things aren’t like they used to be.  And that is true.   We don’t have as much money to spend, we don’t go out to eat as much, and we drive that car and wear those clothes a little bit longer than we were used to driving and wearing them.   But we are still “OK”.

I heard a song recently by “La Roux” called “Bulletproof”, and the group sings with a peppy but defensive attitude that they won’t let “that” (whatever “that” is) happen to them again.   They are “bulletproof.”  All of us feel that way sometimes.   We have a business partner treat us unfairly, or a family member shock us and we say…”I’m never going to let that happen again to me…”   But there is a fine line between taking precaution to protect ourselves from the bullets and being impenetrable by all…even kindness and love.

Things happen, and I’ve decided in a way, I’m bulletproof now.  I probably won’t be as shocked when I’m deceived.  I meet people and I’m a little more skeptical of their talk.   But I’m not going to be untrusting of everyone either.   I’m “OK”  with the fact that I am where I am, and it is what it is.   So I have a bulletproof vest on, and I’ll still bleed when I get hit by the bullets…but I’ll survive.   And I am more than OK with this.   I am thrilled to know that I will be OK no matter what happens….and so will you.
